I touched on this briefly the other day, but I want to elaborate now that I've added the system to the game officially.

Enlightenment comes from pondering specific topics that you may uncover through various means. While this might not sound like a huge deal, gaining enough enlightenment to "master" a topic will yield rewards.

Most commonly , gaining enlightenment will yield extra talent points, bursts of qi, and many other perks -- as an example, a chance to gain "burst qi" when meditating.

By choosing a topic, each time you perform normal actions (just about anything) you gain insight, as you consider the topic in the back of your mind. You can also specifically choose to use your time pondering on the deeper meaning of your set topic for greater progress.

Enlightenment will also be a pivotal part of reaching higher ranks of your cultivation, as you may need to gain enlightenment on certain topics in order to breakthrough.
