Unintended Update


Hello fellow sect members,

I recently made a post about the coming patch for android, but it's looking more like a minor tech update.

As for why? I needed to change some things to get it all working properly. In particular, Skills,  Monsters,  Materials,  Companions and some Party features.

Since I was messing about those, I decided to fully implement the Companions feature (allowing you to make your party), which ties into the new Skills system.

As I mentioned previously, skills are attached to your companions now. Bai Huan has his own adaptable skill (and you'll learn more in the future as you advance), while the rest of your party members have an active skill, a unique skill, or both.



This allows me to remove skills that don't add value to the game, in favor of skills that have unique or specific purposes.

Unique Abilities are passives that affect Bai Huan in various ways. Mai's Unique Ability "Rowdy" improves your HP and overall attack power. Also using Mai as an example, the Fierce Blow skill will now deal high stun damage to enemies.

In the future I will also improve the skills of monsters, but it's not necessary at current.

Since I am taking a second look at Monsters, I decided to give Monsters stat scaling comparable to the main character. The result is far more manageable battles. I also replaced some visuals that were lacking, like so:

And, since I've changed up some things with Monsters, that means I should go ahead and fully implement the planned Material system as well, after all some materials can only be found via monster drops.

Monsters also carry unique traits that affect their stats like "Beast" which gives extra attack power and more health, or "Plant" which reduces damage received but lowers max health of a monster.

Lastly, I had to change some aspects of battle to accommodate monster changes as well, so I will most likely improve  a few things there.

As for other things I want to include:

- Simplify Gifts, much like Materials you only need to acquire them once. Once you acquire a new gift type you can gift it once a day to anyone you choose. Different people enjoy different things, thus you'll get better results if you gift according to their tastes (which can be discovered and will be displayed on screen).

- Battle is still a little confusing in terms of what's happening. I'm working on that - though it will most likely be improved by version 3.

- Fix some missing elements for some characters like Yenay.

- Secondary actions in battle should use Qi or Intent, if you don't have enough they won't trigger (things like Redirect blow/counter, etc). This will be something you can toggle off and on (so you can choose whether you want to attempt to trigger them or not).
